~ Der Streunersoldat... Awaiting orders, sir. ~
(*edited*)

Overall, pose isn't quite reading as I wanted - chalk it up to drawing on two sheets of paper taped together. I considered cropping the frame to about knee level or higher before posting this... But, in a way, I kind of like some sort of vulnerability to the characters, even if it's "you caught them before they could pose" type pose. (Look through any family photo album and you'll see what I mean.)

So, even if homeboy is sporting Kermit legs with a pantaloon kilt, there's still some room for charm or appeal...

Guess that's my justification for having a pose that isn't reading as dynamically or as exaggerated as I was hoping for. Oh well.

Our wandering soldier in the bushes with our heroine Ayin... No, not like that...

"...'Tis not in the power of Britain to do this continent justice: The business of it will soon be too weighty and intricate to be managed with any tolerable degree of convenience by a power so distant from us and so very ignorant of us - for if they cannot conquer us, they cannot govern us. To be always running three or four thousand miles with a tale or petition, waiting four or five months for an answer - which when obtained requires five or six more to explain it in - will in a few years be looked upon as folly and childishness. There was a time when it was proper, and there is a proper time for it to cease."

-Thomas Paine; Common Sense

Just for fun, replace "Britain" with "Washington D.C.", "the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals", "the I.R.S.", "the Death Star * " - pick your favorite - and then reread the quote above.

(* Replace "miles" and "months" with "light years" and/or "parsecs".)

Ah, and btw, a compare-and-contrast with one of my previous posts:

One with lighting and one without. While the one has more atmospheric perspective, I kind of like the depth of colors in the other. Hmm, not sure... Let me know what you think folks.
