More Acheulian Goodness.. with spears...
Ah, stone tools, spears, and
jumping. Perfectly safe.

First work-up sketch. Feet are doing more of the fighting than the stick here. Go
Nike. (or whatever the ancient equivalent was of a heartless shoe monopoly.)

This would've been the next candidate to get a finishing pass, but the angle/composition was a little too close to another illo I did about a year and a half ago.

Some quick passes to get the feel for how she'd ease out of the action pose.

And the concluding panel. Ah,
dental plan.... Anyhow, the characters live happily ever after.
..............
And now, a comic break. With legible fonts this time.

Special thanks to Mr. Brett Nance for the font suggestion. Extra special thanks to the British for the imaginative hand gesture.

As always, your comments are gracious and too kind.
I'm glad you like the messy linework - a testament to my impatience with cleanup. ; ]
Incredible work you have here Khylov! Lots of life in all of your drawings. I'm glad I found your blog!

Aaron;
Thanks man - is good to know that a little bit of chaim (life) is in those drawings. It snuck in there, I assure you...
Steve;
Ahhh, comics master - so you have come back to gloat over my defeated corpse. But! (*gasp*) I will one day have a comic published as well... much like your own... only mine will be... inferior in line quality and action shots. (*gasps last breath as MacLeod's comic sells over the one million mark*)
Fabian;
Thanks, yo. Will be checkin your blog out as well. Great week goes to you too.
pablo pablo;
Danke danke. (Gracias gracias.) I liked your oldies sketch entry.
Nice work glad I stopped by.
These are great. I like seeing the process of this scene. This comic looks to be a lot of work. Good stuff.
Looks great, will the comic be finished soon? I'd buy one.
the dental plan--ha!
Great stuff, man! I love the expressions and the intensity. I can almost hear the soundtrack. Is that James Horner's Willow? Wait a second...it's my headphones.
Again, mucho gracias, meine Kameraden.
Octavio;
When will it be finished? Hmm. Good question.
< pause >
Very good question.
....
Honestly, I wish I could give you an answer on that, because I'd really like to know that myself. As is, until universal equilibrium in the economy is acheived - or until I win the lottery, I'll just keep plugging away at getting the story and drawings/layout together. So, we'll see...
Austin;
Horner? Really? I always had the Any Which Way But Loose soundtrack in mind when drawing these.
You know, the Eastwood movie with semi trucks and an orangutan.
